Cosmia - an excerpt
The story is not accomplished visually, but some stage of the final look can be seen especially on page 2 and 7.
The timid Emily is the underdog at school, in her dysfunctional home, anywhere. She has a secret friend, the moth-like alien Cosmia, who comes from the planet Alba, of which she tells Emily stories and anecdotes. Cosmia takes care of Emily, when she is sad and falling apart. They often meet at a spot in a wood near Emilys parents' house.
After Emily and Cosmia discover empty space inside Emily, Cosmia constantly have to make sure that Emily does not pick herself apart. Inside herself Emily imagines the parallel universe of Alba, and dreams of going there real-time together with Cosmia, who is reluctant to take her there. Eventually Cosmia will leave Emily, either venturing inside of her or traveling home to Alba. Emily continues life on earth either healed or forever empty.
